BMC issue should I reflash?

Hi All,
I have a Supermicro X10DRI-T motherboard and it appears that my BMC which
runs the IPMI is corrupted and/or otherwise nonfunctional. I cannot get web
access to th IPMI but the BIOS looks OK, except for saying that the IPMI is
not working and the machine boots OK.
The green "heartbeat" IPMI LED on the motherboard glows a dim green rather
than flashing green as it should. Also the IPMI was working until I had to
mess with resetting the CMOS battery circuit (removing the battery to get
the BIOS back to the default state). I reset the CMOS several times because
the machine booting was unstable and the POST kept getting stuck. Now, the
booting appears to be working and I can get into the BIOS but I have no
IPMI/BMC. I was thinking about trying to flash the firmware via the
Supermicro SUM utility on Linux. I suspect that won't work due to the BMC
problems but I have not tried it yet.
Have any of you run into this and do you have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Phil
