Microsoft blocking NCLUG's ISP

NCLUG List Members,

Just a short public service announcement. Microsoft for the past week
has decided that it will block the Fort Collins Connexion municipal
fiber which is our NCLUG's ISP. We have a business class connection.

Microsoft includes many domains such as microsoft.com, outlook.com,
hotmail.com, live.com, msn.com, and all other Microsoft properties.

And they tell us that it isn't us, it is our ISP. They say "part of
their network is on our block list". It is intentional collateral
damage. I have worked the problem to get Microsoft to put us in an
allowlist but this doesn't actually work.

Microsoft is a repeat offender. Usually it takes about a month and
then they expire the block and things reset back to normal. I have
seen reports from others that they are also being blocked. It's not
just us.

Of course if you are getting this email then I know you are not on
Microsoft email services. And those on it won't get this email. But
at least I have given some communication to the community about the
situation. Maybe people will talk at lunch or something and the word
will be passed about it.

Friends do not let friends use Microsoft email services.

Bob
