GMG/AXIS' technologies are recognized worldwide in providing the upstream exploration industry with software and service solutions for acquisition design, near surface refraction, seismic processing,  interpretation and reservoir imaging.  With a team approach to project management and problem solving, GMG/AXIS helps customers create an improved understanding of the strengths and limitations of the seismic data, building confidence in the decisions that drive the oil and gas lifecycle.  We are currently looking for a Linux Administrator for our office in Denver, Colorado.
 
Position Summary 
The Administrator will be accountable for the installation, maintenance and trouble-shooting of Linux servers. This individual will also do the required evaluation of hardware and software for projects, design as well as a continual audit of secure platforms.
 
Essential Functions 
*Perform server builds, shell scripting, performance tuning and support.
*Implement hardware and software RAID solutions.
*Set up day - to -day maintenance of production system.
*Will perform system performance & stability monitoring and optimization.
*Incident detection and handling.
*Resource monitoring, scaling of infrastructure as needed.
 

Minimum Essential Requirements 
3-5 years experience as a Linux Administrator.  
High School Diploma or GED required.  
Bachelors Degree preferred.
Massive data storage (RAID) network management experience.
Working knowledge of MPI.
Excellent Troubleshooting and problem solving skills with little supervision (network, hardware, OS and performance related problems.)
Good written and verbal communication skills
 

Preferred Skills
Windows server OS experience a plus.
Linux certification a plus.
System design experience.
Linux cluster management experience.
Geophysical or other high-end data processing background.
