Oracle Product Data Quality (the acquisition of Silver Creek Systems, Inc.) develops an enterprise software product that is designed to simplify complex product descriptions commonly found in many industries, enabling enterprises to more accurately manage product data. Accurate product data improves time-to-market for new products, enhances supply chain execution, increases operational efficiencies, and facilitates better business decisions across the enterprise.

 

Oracle Product Data Quality is already being leveraged by the Oracle Product Information Management Data Hub and is also expected to enhance product data quality across other enterprise applications including Agile Product Lifecycle Management, Supply Chain Management and Enterprise Resource Planning offerings.

 

The underlying core technology, and its market leading differentiation, is that the product is based on semantic technology that learns and understands product content in context.  It uses natural language processing, probabilistic, and AI algorithms to solve product data problems.

 

The semantic technology takes the form of "Data lenses" that are created from record based product data and are usually organized around content domains such as parts or item types.  The Data Lens Analysts in conjunction with subject matter experts (people who are knowledgeable about product data) or themselves through Web and other research uses the Product Data Quality DataLens System to create the semantic models.

 

 

Job Responsibilities

.         Create and execute a system validation test plan

o   Define a data validation strategy

o   Analyze data quality results

o   Define performance test criteria with PM and DEV teams

o   Create and execute scalability tests using the OPDQ scalability solution

o   Conduct capacity tests with large datasets in multiple database environments 

o   Create and execute multi-user simulations using newly designed and existing test tools

o   Design several customer operational profiles that are a representative cross-section of existing customer use models

o   Invent new test cases to validate core software features

 

.         Design and create a system test lab 

o   setup and maintain a multi-server, multi-tier test environment on linux and windows

o   Use Oracle VM and ESXi VMWare Virtual operating environments to host guest operating systems used for testing and automation

 

.         Design, implement and execute automated system tests

o   Develop a system test automation strategy in cooperation with DEV and PM

o   Create and execute automation scripts for system testing efficiency

o   Use Perl, Linux, VBScript, or powershell shell scripts to automate test execution and reporting

o   Use HP QuickTest Pro to automate GUI interface tests such as the web admin console

o   Use existing test harness applications to simulate multiple users

 

.         Generate reports and analysis of system test results and review with the QA,DEV, and PM teams

 

Required Skills and Background

.         8 years system software test engineering experience in a multi-tier enterprise application environment

.         5 years J2EE application environment testing experience

.         Excellent linux shell, networking and shell scripting knowledge

.         5 years windows operating system with network configuration

.         Advanced SQL scripting skills

.         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

.         BSCS/MSCS/BSEE or equivalent

.         Knowledgeable of automation test frameworks 

 

Preferred Experience and Skills

.         Oracle DBA experience a plus

.         QTP Programming 

.         Knowledge of the Oracle Product Data Quality(Datalens) solution
