Oracle/Sun is hiring for a permanent, full time Mid-Senior Level Test Engineer within the Core IO organization.

Key Skills:

-          Manual/Automated test experience

-          Systems test experience including hardware, software and application testing

-          Unix/Linux

-          Scripting

 

Job Description

- creating test plans

- developing test cases

- developing tests

- installing and configuring test systems

- executing tests
- test automation

- tracking and reporting test metrics

- triaging failing tests

- opening bug reports

- assisting in finding the root cause of failures

- writing a final test summary report

- Experience in operating system testing with an emphasis in file system and I/O testing

- UNIX operating system experience

- Testing at an integrated system level including software and hardware test  experience

- Installing and administering operating systems experience

- Experience with disk, tape, and Storage Area Networks

-  C and shell programming languages

 

Preferred Skills And Knowledge

------------------------------

- perl programming language skills

- systems test experience including software, hardware, and application testing

- knowledge and experience on Sun disk, tape, and SAN products
- Fault management, diagnostics, and serviceability testing experience a plus
- Familiarity with SSD technology
- performance test generation and analysis skills

 

Marginal Skills And Knowledge

-----------------------------

- protocol knowledge for parallel SCSI, FC SCSI, iSCSI, SSD, TCP/IP, and IB a plus

- experience with distributed software teams
