DIRECT HIRE WITH ORACLE/SUN - OS Developer - C, Python, Unix - Broomfield, CO

 

The Oracle Solaris System Management Team is focused on developing innovative system configuration and configuration management technology for the core of the Solaris operating system. The technology the team develops provides both server and client side infrastructure that provides for the secure, seamless, and broad integration of the Solaris OS and its services with other enterprise management and monitoring products, as well as providing a platform for building other core Solaris technology and features.

 

As a Software Engineer in the Core OS System Management Team, you will work as part of a tight-knit team developing features and technology in the core OS that play a direct and key role in solving real customer problems, and making Oracle's systems better and easier to deploy, manage, and use.  

 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

 

- Excellent C programming skills and familiarity with Python. Java experience is a plus. 

- Comfort with writing scalable, robust, multi-threaded code.

- System programming experience in a UNIX environment (preferably Solaris).

- Familiarity with Operating System fundamentals and theory a plus.

- Advanced UNIX System Administration experience (preferably Solaris) a plus.

- Good teamwork, communication, and time management skills.

- Ability to self-motivate and learn new things quickly.

- Experience working with a large code base and familiarity with Software Engineering methodologies
