[NCLUG] cable modems tomorrow at 4pm

It's like buying one of those $25 1.6MHz Pentium computers with the 36"
monitor....oh...right...the only catch is you just signed up for a lifetime
of MSN/AOL/Whatever.

How come they never sign you up for 5 years of Linux?

I've heard that once you are converted to MSN, the only way to switch to
another provider is to have your line canceled and then order a new line.
This was from one of the larger DSL providers in a note urging area ISPs
to get customers to switch away from MSN before the conversion is done.

Apparently this has something to do with QWest's legal agreement with MSN
on the transfer of the users...
