good point. 

remember though, that i worked for an isp before people made any money doing
that, while people made crazy money doing that and while lots of people lost
their jobs doing that. during the boom, i saw lots of folks knowing way less
than me making way more than me. they worked for companies with large
advertising budgets and engineers who didn't even know what bgp was. these
companies made shitty networks and shiny commercials.

now, only the best survive. as you say, bad business plans are finally
failing. the ones who ignored the hype and focused on product and service
are succeeding.

the economy works in cycles. some folks get rich playing the cycles and some
get burned. some however, focus on the fundamentals and go for the long
haul. whether that's as a business owner, an investor or a software
engineer.

jeesh, talking about the economy. what have i become?
