to work on upcoming software design and development contracts.

Senior Database Architect*
Your skills are needed to design complex database models to support 
applications and scientific intelligence data modeling on an Enterprise 
level. You will provide technical leadership to projects focused on 
introducing systems enhancements, re-engineering and evolution along 
with tactical projects which support broader strategic programs. This 
position requires a senior-level person who has excellent communication 
skills, is able to be a team member and successfully meet aggressive 
deadlines.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

    * Provide strategic and tactical level technical leadership to
      database development
    * Manage analysis and design of the logical and physical data model
      for new projects as well as support for existing data
    * Maintain data model and data dictionary for development, testing
      and production environments
    * Work closely with the business to understand data
      needs/requirements and provide innovative solutions
    * Work closely with DBA team to implement the data model, including
      generating scripts for model changes
    * Work closely with application architects to design a data model to
      support application development
    * Research our current tools and technologies to ensure that we are
      fully utilizing all features that could benefit the company


The knowledge/skills required to perform the job's basic 
responsibilities are as follows:

    * Computer Science or related degree
    * 5 - 7 years professional experience in IT
    * 3 - 5 years experience in the role of a Data Modeler/Data
      Architect. Must be proficient in data modeling tools
    * Experience in Geospatial database technologies (ArcSDE, Oracle
      Spatial, PostGIS)
    * Extensive experience in implementing data warehousing
    * Extensive technical knowledge and experience in database
      management techniques including logical data modeling, physical
      database optimization, data distribution, and database performance
      monitoring
    * Experience with enterprise level database systems (Oracle, DB2, MSSQL)
    * Knowledge in full systems development life cycle and methodologies
      and software process development methodologies [OOAD/OOP, RUP].
    * Familiarity or experience with some or all of the following
      programming languages: Java, PERL, Visual Basic, Fortran95
    * Understanding of database connector technologies including ODBC,
      JDBC, and XML
    * Database development experience in both Windows and UNIX environments

*Java Software Engineer*

Engineer to support development of data access model.  Applicant must be 
willing to work in a team environment with database designers and 
geospatial specialists. 

The knowledge/skills required to perform the job's basic 
responsibilities are as follows:

    * Computer Science or related degree
    * 3 - 5 years professional experience in Software Engineering
    * 3 years experience in Java development
    * Knowledge of JDBC architecture
    * Use of JUnit test framework
    * Can work on Windows and UNIX platforms
    * Familiar with OOD design and Refactoring


Additional skills that would be useful

    * Familiarity with the ArcSDE Java development kit
    * Familiarity with J2EE EJB technologies
