I disagree with the "6 kids" part, because size implies the Windows minivan 
has more capability then the Linux corvette which is misleading. I think a 
better analogy is to say that the Linux car is standard transmission. It's 
harder to learn initially but once you've learned, it gives you additional 
flexibility, power, and saves gas. Some people prefer standard some prefer 
automatic...

A better analogy overall is Neil Stephenson's from "In the Beginning was the 
Command Line",
