I had heard something about free WiFi in downtown FtC, is this true? Do I need

I just picked up an EeePC 900, but I have to say the Linux install is pretty 
lame, guess I'll load Ubuntu on it.

I can get internet service by tethering to my Blackberry, but that only works 
if I'm running (shudder) Windows.

Verizon is trying to get me to change to an "improved" plan, but when I read 
the fine print I noticed my unlimited data would go away, to be replaced by a 
very limited and expensive alternative. Guess it is "better", for them.
