Sean's is absolutely correct here in that most people look at the price tag and not "under the hood". His examples though are LAMP oriented, which indeed could be one use of a VPS. To go on one side or even opposite end of the resource scale (256MB to 512MB of RAM), a simple slave DNS server is also an option if someone wanted such. Throw in another midrange possibility is a VPS email server or even a groupware (e.g., Horde) server. Then there are the "resource hogs" (2GB+) end of the spectrum like VPS systems with Java applications as another example. So in short, I wanted to poll keeping in mind that "one shoe does not fit all".
Again, just looking to see what LUG folks might be interested in, hence leaving a price tag out of the picture accordingly. I am hoping folks are looking at what is "under the hood" instead.
