Is it possible you're mixing up 1000KB with 1000Mbps (1Gbps) which would 
be a very common speed for an ethernet port.  1000KB (1MB) would be a 
pretty old device.  I've never heard of a 100KB (is that KBytes or 
Kbits) as a standard speed of an ethernet port.    And am I the only one 
that automatically read "p33pl" as "people"?   Geez!.
