I've been the designated nano-optimizer everywhere I've been for closing on
25 years, so I recognize a well-engineered performance solution partly by
its sheer impenetrability <wink>. Judy has the all the right signs of a
gonzo solution that really works.

Well, that sucks. Then I'm triply overjoyed HP let you folks release Judy
under the LGPL! I'm never going to work on a closed-source project again --
half my best work is sitting on tapes in some bankruptcy court's vault,
unused and untouchable. During the last financial meltdown, it occurred to
me that the only code I was still able to work on was the stuff I had
contributed to Python over the years. Open Source may not pay big bux, but
at least I can share everything I do now. Something to keep in mind when
the devil next tempts you with a non-trivial salary <wink>.
